The Bulgarian National Television was the first television launched in Bulgaria. It is a public broadcaster producing and broadcasting political, economic, cultural, scientific, educational, and information programs, providing its audiences with direct access to national and world cultural heritage, and supporting the development of national culture.

BNT fulfills its public function through the 24/7 broadcast of Channel 1, the satellite TV Bulgaria channel, and the four regional TV centers in Blagoevgrad, Varna, Plovidv and Russe.

The Bulagrian National Television is the leader in terms of public trust among all Bulgarian institutions, which proves that has been carrying out its public function successfully.  

BNT is the television of all Bulgarians, and the proof is that whenever people talk about it, they usually talk about the Television, despite the huge number of rival media in the country.
